"Anji Play" Localization

Anji Play is an educational model and philosophy of free play in kindergarten, developed in Anji county in Zhejiang province. It has become a nationally recognized curriculum in China, and studied by overseas practitioners.

This program supports the national rollout of the Anji Play Model by adapting its suitability for kindergartens in the rural areas of China's western region. By enhancing educators' understanding and delivery of the free play model, preschool education outcomes are expected to improve.

The initiative aims to contextualize and localize the model at the county level. Demonstration regions in Shaanxi undergo targeted school renovations, build up local teaching expertise and are evaluated by a university research team.
